Notebook of a Beginner Sewist 5

(*´ ˘ `*) ₍˄·͈༝·͈˄₎◞ ̑̑.。oO You’re thinkin, ooh, she’s going to show us that sewing she mentioned back here? Uh, no. I’m still trying to get back up on that horse which translates to…

I was still too lazy to drag out the sewing machine and set everything up.

However, I do have something to show related to sewing – the start of my sewing journal.

I needed a dose of art in my life today so I tracked down this journal and got to work. What you see on these pages are the sewing patterns I want to make. I didn’t want to get all too fancy-schmancy like I did with the bullet journal. I wanted lists with a lil somethin somethin.

Patty (Books, Thoughts and Adventures), I believe you gave me this stamp set, yeah?

I used alphabet stamps (from a set) and a different, vintage sewing stamp for each category of patterns. These were stamped in permanent ink. I then used a Distress Ink to color them.

  • Dresses = Rusty Hinge
  • Jumpsuits = Victorian Velvet
  • Skirts = Bundled Sage
  • Tops = Weathered Wood

The rectangles were drawn with a bullet journal stencil.

Now I need to figure out a good, basic sewing journal format for projects as I’m going to keep track of measurements, adjustments, etc. by hand. And of course, I need to get sewing!

I’m debating on whether or not to designate days for certain crafts; that way, there’s no guessing or scrambling after I get my workout done. Something to marinate…

GTG and figure out dinner. Hope you had a good Sunday. TTYS.
