Afternoon. TGIF! How’re you? How’s your Friday going? The husband drove me to my appointment and then we got poke bowls near home. I totally ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´(00)`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ oinked out, devouring the whole bowl while watching Steven Colbert on Youtube.
I have a new WIP to show you. I was going to cast on a pair of TAAT socks but found I wasn’t 100% in the mood to knit socks just yet. Instead, I cast on another charity project:
I have always wanted to knit a pair of full mittens. By “full,” I mean ones that cover a person’s fingers, but not through individual finger tubes.
I found The World’s Simpliest Mittens by Tin Can Knits. What I love about this pattern is that there are different sizes and you can even knit them in different weights of yarn. How versatile!
The yarn I’m knitting with is FibraNatura Dona in the colorway, Amber. You can see I’m knitting cuff up.
This close up above is to show you where I’m at in the pattern – the thumb gussets. For those of you who don’t knit, a thumb gusset is like a chimney tube that is attached to the palm area of the mitten that will slant out sideways. I am increasing stitches here now and then before I stop at a certain point. When I stop, I’ll be putting those stitches on waste yarn (I’ll try to remember to take a picture then) so I can finish up the mitten parts that go over the other fingers and then finish the thumb guessets last.
Hmmm…debating on what project to work on after I finish up here. Have a good weekend and TTYS.
