It’s Monday! What are you reading?

Aloha. How was your weekend? I’ve been making use of our instant pot for entrées; I tried a chicken teriyaki recipe and it was oishi. My ohana licked their lips after wolfing it down. My husband has asked for more. Saturday was a good one with the sewing I got done. The girls and I also watched a few more episodes of Stranger Things, season two. Sunday I blogged diligently and meticulously to analyze and to keep it real. Later on we went for a very late lunch of Korean food. Haemul pajeon is what I always order at the restaurant. The fried crisp my seafood and green onion pancake gets is amazing and delicious.

Well ugh, it’s Monday. How do you get yourself going on a Monday? Coffee? A pump-yourself-up-chat in the mirror? I do neither of those and just throw on my workout clothes that I purposely wear so I can’t talk myself out of exercising after keiki drop off. I’m the type of person who has to work out asap because I want to get it done and then I feel free for the rest of the day to do whatever.

I know I haven’t had a Sunday post for the past two weeks because well, I technically haven’t finished any books yet. But would you believe I have about six books I’m currently reading?

Yep, one paperback, one audio CD set, and four Kindle books. I started off reading The Midnight Rose and listening to the first CD of The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street. But I needed ebooks for when I was on the elliptical so I went back to Map of Shadows, finished the third Harry Potter book, and then started the fourth installment. However, you know how holds come tumbling in so that’s how The Immortalists and The Bone Witch got added.

I read the latter two as well in the car before pick up since they have long holds lists. While it seems crazy that I have four, Kindle books on my Paperwhite, it totally works for me exercise wise. I read a chapter from each of those, keeping me focused on the stories and thus checking how much time has gone by less. I hit 35 minutes at least by the time I’m done!

So just checking in today on the book front. I’m behind on my Goodreads challenge but oh well, it is what it is. Before I sign off, mahalo nui loa for all of the skirt cheer. I’m really proud that I made it as it’s a project I’ve wanted to do for some time. As for wearing it? That’s a bit up in the air. I would probably wear it with my Birks as it gets warmer here and I may have to break down and shop some for some good tank tops and v-neck t-shirts so I’ll be motivated to wear it. I do want to make another one in a better fit and look forward to shopping for fabric for it at the next Joann sale, but I do have some projects I need to take care of first.

Have a good Monday. I hope it has started off smoothly. TTYS.

  1. You are a wonderfully Voracious reader!!!!!!

I got 4 more books out of library, and have started 3. Have a ‘sneaking suspicion’ that I have already read the 4th. LOL. Still have not finished my waited-for book, on Kindle. When it’s done, I’ll have to wait and wait, for the next in the series, to come. -moan- ,-)

Mondays are fine, when you are older and retired. :-)))))) And it’s a beeeeautiful day. So we can finish up some yard work. :-))) Tomorrow rain, so today’s the day!!!!!

  2. Ugh monday.. I have Home by Harlan Coben on my nightstand. I have not gotten much reading done though.. we are into our first week of Ramadan and the whole schedule is upside down.. plus we try to devote the month to reading the Quran.. so I shall wait. 😦

  3. Also behind a little bit on my Goodreads challenge but like you said, it is what it is… I read The Bone Witch and, while the plot of the story intrigued me, I didn’t really enjoy it that much. I hope you like it more than I did. Harry Potter however, I could read over and over again. Enjoy all of your reading. 🙂

  4. Good luck with all the books you have going. I wish I was as organized as you are about exercise. I begin the day on my computer and should begin with exercise. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  5. I’d rather get exercise out of the way too, although I’m weak and put it off til evening. Then if I’m not careful it’s 9:00 and I’m like aww there’s no time lol. Such a struggle!

Happy reading and good luck w/ the projects!

  6. I started to fall into a rut about cooking. After watching a few episodes of a Netflix cooking show (whose name eludes me!) I am reinspired. We will see. Lol.

So many books!!! I need to finish my HP reread. I seem to crave them in the fall. Maybe since they are sort of a comfort read for me, and I feel so cozy in the fall. 🙂 Have a great week!

  7. 6 books is quite a lot to have going at once. When I do that it always seems like it takes forever to finish anything but then I finish all the books at the same time which is kind of nice. I like the plan of workout clothes to make yourself workout. Very smart! Have a great week!

  8. Stef!!!!!!! I’ve been pretty absent and I apologise! I need to get better at following along on my phone because I miss people like you!!! I’m glad we’ve made some connection on Insta though because I find that far easier to manage without a computer.

Your Instant Pot meals have had me drooling!!! I really need to pull mine out and give it a whirl but I just CAN’T seem to stay at home long enough! We’re headed out this weekend again. Jeepers!

Okay, I need updates. How did you go with Rebel of the Sands?

I managed to find a LYS finally while I was away and bought a big bag full of yarn and did some crochet work! I should try to feature my little guys in one of my bookstagram pics if I can squeeze it in there somehow!!! 😉 I so far haven’t made much, I actually need to buy even MORE yarn for different projects – colours and size variations!

Ummm. Other than that all is well my side. How are you doing? How is your foot going?

  9. So many books so little time. I am in the middle of a Stephen King novel but will be setting it aside this week temporarily to pick up a review book or else I’d reading nothing bu Needful Things this month since it is like 790 pages long. Enjoy your reading, I love the HP books too. I am behind on my Goodreads challenge also but I am ahead with my reading count from this time last year so that’s good.

On the skirt front, I love wearing comfy skirts and tanks and sandals in the summer months too. Enjoy your week!
