Aloha. How was your weekend? I’ve been making use of our instant pot for entrées; I tried a chicken teriyaki recipe and it was oishi. My ohana licked their lips after wolfing it down. My husband has asked for more. Saturday was a good one with the sewing I got done. The girls and I also watched a few more episodes of Stranger Things, season two. Sunday I blogged diligently and meticulously to analyze and to keep it real. Later on we went for a very late lunch of Korean food. Haemul pajeon is what I always order at the restaurant. The fried crisp my seafood and green onion pancake gets is amazing and delicious.
Well ugh, it’s Monday. How do you get yourself going on a Monday? Coffee? A pump-yourself-up-chat in the mirror? I do neither of those and just throw on my workout clothes that I purposely wear so I can’t talk myself out of exercising after keiki drop off. I’m the type of person who has to work out asap because I want to get it done and then I feel free for the rest of the day to do whatever.
I know I haven’t had a Sunday post for the past two weeks because well, I technically haven’t finished any books yet. But would you believe I have about six books I’m currently reading?
Yep, one paperback, one audio CD set, and four Kindle books. I started off reading The Midnight Rose and listening to the first CD of The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street. But I needed ebooks for when I was on the elliptical so I went back to Map of Shadows, finished the third Harry Potter book, and then started the fourth installment. However, you know how holds come tumbling in so that’s how The Immortalists and The Bone Witch got added.
I read the latter two as well in the car before pick up since they have long holds lists. While it seems crazy that I have four, Kindle books on my Paperwhite, it totally works for me exercise wise. I read a chapter from each of those, keeping me focused on the stories and thus checking how much time has gone by less. I hit 35 minutes at least by the time I’m done!
So just checking in today on the book front. I’m behind on my Goodreads challenge but oh well, it is what it is. Before I sign off, mahalo nui loa for all of the skirt cheer. I’m really proud that I made it as it’s a project I’ve wanted to do for some time. As for wearing it? That’s a bit up in the air. I would probably wear it with my Birks as it gets warmer here and I may have to break down and shop some for some good tank tops and v-neck t-shirts so I’ll be motivated to wear it. I do want to make another one in a better fit and look forward to shopping for fabric for it at the next Joann sale, but I do have some projects I need to take care of first.
Have a good Monday. I hope it has started off smoothly. TTYS.
