1 Knit For Me

Annyeong haseyo ヾ(_ _。). TGIF, TGIF. While I’m happy it’s Fri-yay, I’m feelin’ good. Bloglovin came through and did the work of claiming this blog for me – kamsa hamnida, Micah. And I finally got back on the workout horse today, walking a little over two miles and pumpin’ iron along with doing squats and crunches. My body is s-o-r-e; I’m going to need some IB soon. How about you? How you feelin’ today?

The only difference between an experienced knitter and new knitter is that the experienced knitter makes bigger mistakes faster. Be bold; there are no terrible consequences in knitting.

I can’t believe I have two feet into February. I look behind at January in the distance and wonder, where did time go? STITCHES West is the 22nd to the 25th. I didn’t plan on going this year but then Barrett Wool Co’s email delivered into my inbox and says they’re going to be vending in the marketplace! Well heck, of course I’m changing my mind!

However, I am (;´・`)> behind on my Flax! I have to get it done by the 23rd; that’s when I’m going down to maw every booth and to give Susan a hug + take a selfie with her too!

The last time you saw my sweater, I was almost done with the raglans. I’m done with them and have the correct number of stitches. (•́⌄•́๑)૭✧ Because my row/round gauge doesn’t match the pattern’s, it tells me I need to knit around and around with no increases and decreases until I reach nine inches.

And so Big Woods Flax and I will get some QT until I get it done. Cross your fingers for me, pls. This picture, BTW, really shows the true green of the Big Woods colorway.

So because I’ll be the fast and the furious with my Chiaogoo Interchangeables, I will flash the small progress I have on Harry right now as I don’t know if I’ll have a sock post for March:

One gusset has been picked up and knitted. Seventy-five percent of it was done Sunday during Super Bowl. You see how I went from knitting vertically down to outwards left. Twenty rounds complete the gusset from start to finish. I would decrease twice in one round and then knit straight in the other (10 of each). The reason why this happens is because when the stitches are picked up, there are way more stitches than the number I had started with (80 vs. 60). So I needed to decrease every other round to get back down to the original number of 60.

In the car one day while waiting for one of the daughters to get out of school, I started picking up the gusset of the second sock.

Okie doke. I need to start getting ready for pick up, making sure I pack Flax to pass the time in the car. I hope you have some interesting plans this weekend. A big kamsa hamnida to those of you who have transferred your reading to over here in my new space. I appreciate your great company. Oh BTW, for future 411, with the way widgets work for this WP theme, one can follow me by scrolling down all the way to the near end of this post. I need to add a Bloglovin button if I can. TTYS. Annyeong kaseyo.

  1. Oh congrats on all fronts! 🙂 Pumpin’ iron huh? You’ll be like Arnold soon! 😉 I can’t pump iron anymore, I used to love it, but now I do more gentle stuff like easy yoga and some leg lifts, pushups…stuff like that. Your knitting is very beautiful Stefanie! I love the colours on the sock!

  2. Aww…I’m going to Stitches West for the first time this year; although I don’t really need any more yarn. Maybe just for the experience of going? I will be heading there with some of my knitting friends on the 24th (Saturday)…at least that’s the day I think they said they want to go. I hope it’s not too warm to wear your Flax by that time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t just go straight into summer. I can’t believe how warm it has been! Crazy, right?

    1. Aw, sorry I’ll miss ya but I know many have to work Friday. I’d rather beat the weekend rush. I think I will try to wear a sundress underneath so I won’t be hot. I have two or three possibilities in the closet unless I shop for one.

  3. I love your sock. NOw if you double decrease on the rows WHERE do you do this? do you Knit two tog then knit two tog and then knit one at the end of one needle? Im confused. But intrigued because I sometimes have too many to pick up from my gusset also. Please advise!! And I love the quote.

  4. OK! OK! I’m here! Better late than never, and all that….. LOL

I don’t need ‘Bloglovin’ or any of those things. I Follow, by the Blogger Follow Gadget, in my own blog place. Which may only make sense to me, but….. In other words, I see new posts, but my “following” doesn’t “show” on your blog.

The thing about Word Press that I don’t like is…. You have to “jump through hoops,” to be able to have one’s own Icon pic show up. I hate those… *You must sign up here, to do such and such.* Soooo guess I’ll just stay, one of those looney-toones Icons which WP hands out. ,-)
